GuardianSignal Privacy Policy

GuardianSignal is an Android health monitoring and caregiver alert app for families. This policy explains what information GuardianSignal may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information GuardianSignal Collects

GuardianSignal may collect account information such as email address, app authentication identifiers, monitored profile names, watcher relationships, emergency contact details entered by the user, device push tokens, app version data, and alert response information.

When a user grants permission, GuardianSignal may read health and activity data such as heart-rate samples from Android Health Connect, Google Health API, Oura, Fitbit-compatible integrations, or other connected wearable APIs. When a user grants location permission or chooses to share location, GuardianSignal may store location coordinates or a map link with an alert response.

How GuardianSignal Uses Information

GuardianSignal uses information to sign users in, connect monitored people and watchers, create health and safety alerts, send push notifications, record alert responses, escalate unresolved alerts, sync user-authorized health samples, and maintain app security and reliability.

Google API Data Use

GuardianSignal requests Google Health API access only after a user chooses to connect their Google health data. The requested Google Health API scope is used to read health metrics, including heart-rate data, for health monitoring, alert response, and caregiver escalation inside GuardianSignal.

GuardianSignal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing

GuardianSignal shares alert information only with accepted watchers or caregivers that the user has connected with in the app. GuardianSignal does not sell personal information or Google user data. GuardianSignal may use service providers such as Supabase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Health APIs, Android Health Connect, Stripe, Resend, Fitbit, or Oura when those services are configured and authorized by the user.

User Choices

Users can choose whether to grant Health Connect, Google Health API, location, and notification permissions. Users can revoke Google API access from their Google Account permissions, revoke Android permissions from device settings, sign out of the app, and request removal of connected watcher relationships from within GuardianSignal.

Data Security

GuardianSignal uses authenticated backend access, row-level database security, and provider OAuth flows where applicable. No system can guarantee perfect security, but GuardianSignal is designed to limit access to authorized users and accepted caregiver relationships.

Children and Families

GuardianSignal is intended for family and caregiver use. A parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver should manage the app for any minor or dependent person.

Changes

GuardianSignal may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
